Our New Blog

Welcome to the Rainbow Rackets Blog!

We're so glad you're here — and if you're reading this, you're probably already part of what makes Rainbow Rackets so special.

Since 2024, Rainbow Rackets has been building something we believe New York City's LGBTQ+ community deserves: a place on the tennis court where everyone feels seen, respected, and free to be themselves. Whether you've never picked up a racket or you're just finding your footing as a beginner, we've worked hard to make sure there's a place for you here. Tennis is more than a sport — it's a way to build confidence, find community, and have a genuinely great time. That's what we're about.

This blog is a new space for us to connect with you beyond the courts and the event pages. Think of it as a home for everything happening in and around our community. Here's what you can expect to find here:

  • Event recaps — so you can relive the fun (or catch up on what you missed)

  • Tennis tips for beginners — practical, encouraging guidance for players still finding their game

  • Member spotlights — stories from the people who make Rainbow Rackets what it is

  • LGBTQ+ tennis news — what's happening in our broader community, on and off the court

  • Organization updates — announcements, new programs, and everything coming up at Rainbow Rackets

We're excited to have a place to tell our story in a little more depth, and we'd love for this to feel like a conversation. If there's something you'd like to see covered, a story you think deserves a spotlight, or tips you wish someone had given you when you were starting out — reach out. This community is built by all of us.

Here’s to more fun on and off the courts!

With love and good volleys,

David Reid
